It is an underwhelming week for Jamaican consumers as state-owned refinery, Petrojam, released its latest rework of baseline prices today (June 22).

In its closely watched petroleum product price index, the refinery advised that 87-octane gasolene would see its cost slashed by a meagre J$0.25, to open at an introductory price of J$170.20.

The largely inconsequential pricing update brought a mix of miniscule cost changes, which was arguably most pronounced for heavy fuel oil (HFO).

It is expected that retailers will add their mark-ups to the announced prices.
