
Leaders Montego Bay United battled to a 2-2 draw with Harbour View, while Dunbeholden FC whipped Treasure Beach 4-2 as only two Jamaica Premier League games were played on Sunday.
Montego Bay had to come from behind twice to earn a share of the points with Harbour View after Trayvone Reid scored two beautiful free kicks for the Stars of the East in the 9th and 44th minutes. But Brazilian Lucas Lima Correa also netted two goals, scoring in the 38th and 81st minutes.
Montego Bay United increased their lead atop the standings on 50 points, while Harbour View, letting two points slip, inched to 20 points. They are still in the relegation zone in 13th spot. Last Thursday, they defeated Mount Pleasant 1-0 for three valuable points.
Harbour View are now two points from safety, with that spot occupied by Treasure Beach, which were beaten 2-4 by Dunbeholden. Treasure Beach are in 12th spot on 22 points while Dunbeholden are in ninth with 29, three points adrift of a top-six playoff spot.
Damion Binns netted three times for Dunbeholden in the 39th, 45+1 and 90+4. Raheem Porter had given Treasure Beach an early lead, scoring in the 2nd minute, and Lajon Livingstone scored in the 84th.
The competition continues on Monday with a double header at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. Second-placed Racing United on 42 points will face Phoenix Chapelton Maroons in sixth spot with 32 points at 5 pm, before home team Arnett Gardens in seventh spot on 30 points take on bottom-placed Spanish Town Police on 15 points.
