The National Water Commission (NWC) says the Mona Reservoir in St Andrew has reached approximately half its storage capacity.

In an update on Thursday, September 25, the NWC reported that the reservoir’s water level now stands at 51.6 per cent, representing 417.4 million gallons.

The reservoir’s total capacity is 808.5 million gallons.

Meanwhile, the NWC says the Hermitage Dam has reached its full storage capacity, which is a result of recent heavy rainfall across the Corporate Area.

According to the Met Service, showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue across most parishes into the weekend as a trough now moves across the island.

In its forecast issued on Thursday, the Met Service says the system will linger for the next few days.

A tropical wave is also expected to move across Jamaica starting Friday evening.
