Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project to ease traffic burden, boost business in the west

Ground was broken on the US$274.5-million Montego Bay Perimeter Road project on Saturday (July 16) during a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Andrew Holness and other senior Cabinet members.

The construction and engineering of this significant roadway is being done by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC).

The Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation, in collaboration with the National Road Operating and Constructing Company Limited, will oversee this infrastructure undertaking which will employ 500 Jamaicans.

The Montego Bay Perimeter Road Project is being paid for entirely by the Government of Jamaica with no external debt obligations.
