Dr Karrian Hepburn Malcolm, head of NCB Wealth, celebrated her birthday at the ROK Hotel in downtown Kingston last week.

It was a splendid affair, but it was not just about coming out to celebrate Karrian’s birthday and having a glass or two of bubbly.

Hepburn Malcom is a talented woman, and the event also showcased her capabilities. The occasion also saw her launch her book. She also unveiled the Dr Karrian Hepburn Malcolm Foundation while performing like a songbird with her songs.

The foundation will focus on young people and help to give them resources to bloom and blossom. It will also give them networking opportunities and place them with mentors.

It will also do extensive work with cancer patients, and this is inspired by Dr Karrian Hepburn Malcom’s mother succumbing to pancreatic cancer.

Dr Karrian Hepburn Malcolm began singing as a nine-year-old in church and continued throughout prep school. Karrian continues to sing at her church. She treats her singing as a passion, a hobby that she has kept going. She sang at a pantomime directed by Barbara Gloudon.

One can’t help but think that Karrian could have made it as a performer if she had chosen to go that route. Many of us are thankful that she is one of the Caribbean’s foremost financial executives with experience both in Trinidad and Jamaica.

Cheers to you, Karrian!
