More flights are coming into the Bahamas from American Airlines, as the company ramps up flights to the destination.

Puerto Rico also gets in on the action through Spirit Airlines, which launched another non-stop route to the US territory.

American Airlines, the world’s largest airline, will be launching a new service from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport to Nassau, beginning June 5.

The move is part of a broader airlift boost this summer for The Bahamas, which will also see new flights on Frontier Airlines from Miami to Nassau beginning in July.

The latter service will operate four times each week.

In announcing the move, Bahamas Minister of Tourism and Aviation, Dionisio D’Augilar said, “We’re excited to welcome these new flights to The Bahamas, allowing more options for travellers to book a stay in paradise, now that warmer weather is here.”
