A team of officers assigned to the Area 5 Fugitive Apprehension Team (AFAT), through their operations recovered eight motor vehicles believed to have been stolen.

The recoveries were made during an operation in several communities in Spanish Town and Linstead in St Catherine between Monday, October 21 and Tuesday, October 22. The communities include McCooks Pen, Red Pond, and Angels.

Through its efforts, several communities were searched which culminated in the recovery of six motor vehicles—namely, three Nissan Tiida, one Nissan Sylphy, one Nissan Caravan and one Toyota Wish motor car.

Three persons were arrested during this operation in relation to this discovery.

Additionally, an earlier operation occurred in Linstead, where two other motor vehicles were recovered by the lawmen and two persons were arrested on Saturday, October 19 during this operation.

The identities of the individuals are being withheld pending further investigation.

According to the police, operational activities of this nature will continue across the St Catherine North Police Division as they seek to deny criminals the opportunity to commit crimes as well as not to allow them to benefit from it.

“This division continues to stand on the pillars of hot-spot controlling and anti-gang activities as a way to disrupt and displace criminal activities while reducing organised crimes and other criminal elements within the space,” the JCF said.
