Jamaica’s Mount Pleasant advanced to the final of the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup 5-2 on aggregate after losing the second leg 0-1 in Kingston at the National Stadium on Wednesday night.

Mount Pleasant entered the game with a 5-1 advantage from the first leg in Trinidad and Tobago a few weeks ago, and that deficit proved insurmountable.

Captain Kevin Molino gave Defence Force hope by scoring early in the 13th minute, but that’s all they got as Mount Pleasant stood firm and booked their spot in the final.

The St Ann-based club is looking to continue the streak of Jamaican teams in the Caribbean Cup Final. Cavalier FC is the reigning champion and also finished as runners-up in 2023, the tournament’s inaugural edition.

The other semi-final is delicately poised at 1-1 between Ciboa FC and O&M FC, both clubs from the Dominican Republic
