The expansion project at Mount St. Joseph High School in Manchester is slated for completion in the upcoming fiscal year.

Approximately J$410 million has been allocated by the Government to commence and complete the construction of the auditorium and canteen.

The sum is contained in the 2026/27 Estimates of Expenditure, which was tabled in the House of Representatives by Minister of Finance Fayval Williams on February 12.

As of December 2025, construction of the third- and fourth-form blocks was completed, while the administrative block had reached 83 per cent completion.

The project, which began in April 2015, is now scheduled for completion in March 2027, following three extensions to the original timeline.

“The National Education Trust (NET) serves as the implementing agency for the Education Transformation Programme, which aims to provide additional classrooms to reduce overcrowding and phase out the shift system in schools,” she explained.
