MultiLink celebrates 25th anniversary with spectacular event

In a grand celebration marking the culmination of its year-long commemoration of the 25th anniversary milestone achievement, MultiLink, Jamaica’s largest debit card network system, hosted a cocktail party on Friday (May 19) at the AC Hotel by Marriott.

The event was attended by a diverse range of guests from the financial and telecommunications sectors, as well as other esteemed partners associated with the brand over the years.

The festivities began with a warm welcome from JETS Ltd., the parent body of MultiLink, which expressed gratitude to all those who have contributed to the company’s success.

Dr Wayne Robinson, senior deputy-governor of the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ), took the stage and delivered an inspiring speech. He highlighted the Central Bank’s recognition of MultiLink’s significant contribution to facilitating financial transactions for the public and its positive impact on the Jamaican economy.

Following Robinson’s address, Edmundo Jenez, chief executive of JETS, captivated the audience with a captivating journey through the 25-year history of MultiLink.

Jenez’s insightful speech not only provided an overview of MultiLink’s accomplishments but also offered a glimpse into the brand’s future expansion plans, leaving the audience eager for what lies ahead.

The highlight of the evening was the special appreciation presentations, where individuals and organisations were recognised for their exceptional contributions to the ongoing success of the MultiLink brand.

Among the distinguished recipients were Dr Robinson; the Bank of Jamaica itself; the Bankers Association of Jamaica; the seven shareholder financial institutions including BNS, CIBC, The JCCUL, JN Bank, NCB, Sagicor, and VMBS; as well as several major local and overseas partners.

The celebration exuded a vibrant atmosphere, enhanced by the melodious tunes of a lively Cuban band during the cocktail hour.

The renowned reggae artist, Tarrus Riley, took the stage to conclude the evening on a high note, mesmerising the audience with a captivating musical performance. DJ Omar further heightened the entertainment, ensuring that all attendees had an enjoyable and memorable experience.
