The Government in collaboration with the Musson Foundation, has initiated the construction of a brand-new multi-purpose court at Gregory Park Primary School in Portmore, St. Catherine.
This project is part of ongoing efforts to enhance Jamaica’s educational infrastructure.
The three-month project will cost J$5.1 million and its scope of work includes the provision of an asphalt-paved multi-purpose court and a covered spectator stand.
The multi-purpose court will provide students with enhanced sports facilities and benefit the 360 students at the school.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday (May 29), Principal Richard Williams says he is grateful for the contributions to the school.
He said, “We are deeply grateful for the generous contribution towards the construction of our new multi-purpose court. This facility will not only provide our students with a space to engage in various sports but will also enhance their overall educational experience and have a lasting positive impact on the Gregory Park Primary community.”
The project is being led by the National Education Trust (NET) in collaboration with the Toll Authority of Jamaica, the Sports Development Foundation, and the Musson Foundation.
Latoya Harris-Ghartey, NET executive director, added, “This project exemplifies how collaborative efforts can create meaningful and lasting improvements in our education sector.”
