Fellow Jamaicans, I wish to reflect sincere gratitude for the opportunity to have served in the Upper House of Parliament for the past two terms, from 2016 to 2025.
It has been an honour to contribute to the work of advancing our country’s vision and serving the people. While I will not be returning to the Senate in this new session, my commitment to the nation, our Government led by our Prime Minister, and to the people we serve, remains steadfast.
Public service is not defined by a single role or title—it is a team effort and a mission we all share. In keeping with this change, I have taken the opportunity to refresh and revive, and with my family, chart the next chapter (s) going forward in my career. I remain committed to my role as a consultant psychiatrist at the UHWI and especially wish to take this opportunity to reflect gratitude to my professional colleagues for their unwavering support.
I look forward to the continued upward mobility of our nation, and it will always be an honor to serve in this journey. As we move into a new chapter, I celebrate the new senators appointed and I remain ready to collaborate with them and indeed the administration, as we pursue the development of our beloved country.

My intention to put out this press release coincides with [Tuesday’s] tragic passing of Miss Trya Spaulding, a young lady who sought to also represent our nation. Her transition is truly an unfortunate reality. I am heartened to continue utilising my unique skill set and qualifications to impact our nation’s wellness at individual and population levels. This is a collective developmental task which is bigger than any one person or role. May her soul Rise In Peace.
Without doubt, my journey of service continues. I look forward to playing my part in carrying our nation forward as I remain a Jamaican, committed to our country and its people’s development.
