For the first time since signing with IMG Models, Natalia Bryant, daughter of late basketballer Kobe Bryant is gracing the cover of Teen Vogue magazine.

The 18-year-old, who made her first-ever cover shoot seven months after signing to IMG Models, appears in the magazine’s September issue.

In a profile for the magazine, Bryant opens up about life for her and her family in the aftermath of the January 2020 plane accident which claimed the lives of her father and sister, Gianna Bryant, among others.

Of particular note was Natalia’s reference to her father as “the best girl dad ever”, with whom she shared fond memories such as a 2019 Star Wars midnight showing.

Despite the heartache that comes with speaking about her dad, Natalia stated: “I love talking about my dad. It‘s bittersweet, but I enjoy talking about him more than it’s sad for me.”

On the matter of how she and her family had been coping since the loss, Natalia explained: “You do the best that you can. (For) my little sisters (we’re) trying to keep that memory for them. And also just trying to remember to live out every day the way they would.”

Bryant also talked about taking a step back from volleyball, putting her goal to play the sport in college behind her.

“I quit volleyball after the accident because I was so… a lot was going on at that time,” she said. “I knew I didn’t… love volleyball as much as they love basketball. I’m okay with that… I just wanted to take a break from it.”
