Nathan Chen, from Salt Lake City, won the men’s single skating gold medal today (February 10) at the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
It was the third gold medal for the US at the Games.
The three-time World Champion was absolutely scintillating, skating to Elton John’s Rocket Man. He scored 332.6 points doing a quad flip and a triple toe loop.

Said Chen: “It means the world. I’m just so happy. It’s a whirlwind right now but I had a blast out there. I never really felt I’d be able to make it this far in my career. I’d always dream about making the Olympics and winning the Olympics.”
Chen put on skates for the first time aged three and has a passion for ballet.
He will now be pursuing medical studies at university.
