The Jamaica Orchid Society is promising lovers of exotic plants and nature enthusiasts the ready themselves for a floral experience like no other.
In association with Evergrow Garden Center, the society is set to present “Orchids Bright and Beautiful”—a two-day celebration of delicate buds, art and entertainment.
The orchid showcase is scheduled for March 22-23 at the Jamaica Horticultural Society show grounds in Hope Pastures, St Andrew.
For over 90 years, the Jamaica Orchid Society has been at the forefront of preserving and promoting orchid cultivation across the island. This year’s show promises to be bigger, bolder, and more beautiful, featuring stunning orchid exhibits, expert-led workshops, and a lively marketplace with plants, pottery, craft, jewelry, and more.
“This event isn’t just for experienced or expert collectors or growers,” said Jeremy Whyte, president of the Jamaica Orchid Society.
“Whether you’re growing orchids for the first time, a gardening enthusiast, or simply someone who appreciates beauty, there’s something here for you. Our goal is to educate, inspire, and, most of all, share our passion for these extraordinary flowers.”
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to learn from experts through various workshops about proper orchid care, repotting, and tips and techniques to ensure that their orchids thrive in the Jamaican climate.
“Imagine stepping into the show exhibit area filled with breathtaking orchids of every color, shape, and size. From the striking Phalaenopsis to magnificent Cattleyas, exotic Oncidiums, stunning Vandas and more, ” Whyte said.

“The event will showcase orchid hybrids and species, including native Jamaican species, some of which are found nowhere else in the world.”
In addition to the attractive floral displays, visitors can explore a vibrant marketplace featuring orchids and other plants, handcrafted pottery, unique jewelry, and artisanal craft items that are perfect for plant lovers looking for decorative pieces or meaningful gifts.
With an entry fee of J$1,000, organisers say there will also be entertainment, food vendors, and fun activities for the entire family.
Tickets will be available at Evergrow Garden Centre on South Avenue.
“This is more than just a plant show, it’s a celebration of nature’s artistry, beauty, and a shared passion,” Whyte said. “We invite everyone to come, be inspired, and perhaps even take home their very first orchid!”
