The first season of ‘Hot Ones Caribbean’ focused on Trinidad and Tobago. The Tempo Networks series moves to Jamaica for Season Two.

The National Baking Company has been announced as a sponsor of Hot Ones Caribbean Jamaica.

The company is throwing its support behind the localised version of the popular food-driven web series by funding five featured pepper sauces from small and medium sized manufacturers in Jamaica. With episodes raking in views and gaining further traction on social media platforms, these small sauce manufacturers are set to get a major boost from the sponsorship.

On the show, Hot Ones, celebrities are interviewed while they sample wings and a variety of hot sauces in varying degrees of spiciness. This format will remain the same for the local adaptation.

Uncle Ducky’s, Tooksie’s, Smart Choice, Scotch Boyz, & Likkle Tups are the selected five from a total of 10 pepper sauces featured on the programme. As an additional part of the sponsorship from National Baking Company, they will get the opportunity to be mentored by the company’s chairman and chief executive officer, Gary ‘Butch’ Hendrickson, as well as high ranking senior members of staff on all matters manufacturing and production.

“The nature of the show is such that these five small manufacturers will benefit from the virality and built-in celebrity endorsements. With the global reach of this series, manufacturers will benefit from the exposure to audiences that they may not have accessed otherwise.”

Shannon Bailey, corporate brand manager at National Baking Company

National Baking Company’s corporate brand manager, Shannon Bailey, said: “We are thrilled to be on board with the Jamaica Edition of Hot Ones Caribbean as a sponsor. This is a wonderful opportunity, not only for Hot Ones Caribbean to increase its Jamaican audience, but also it is providing a boon within the local entertainment, production and manufacturing industries.”

Bailey added: “The nature of the show is such that these five small manufacturers will benefit from the virality and built-in celebrity endorsements. With the global reach of this series, manufacturers will benefit from the exposure to audiences that they may not have accessed otherwise.”

She stated that, after being approached by Tempo Networks, National jumped aboard to sponsor, especially considering the tremendous marketing and growth opportunities to be gained by the small pepper manufacturers and in light of the principles the company upholds.

“National is always keen to throw its support behind initiatives that will contribute towards the development of the manufacturing industry. It is our pleasure to fund this opportunity for the selected five and also provide some additional business and industry mentorship support as they anticipate the mass exposure and demand from their feature. In particular, we will also see to it that these pepper sauces have the opportunity to export their featured products,” Bailey added.

The five small manufacturers will be featured on the ShopNatBake website – the US-based e-commerce platform for National Baking Company.

Hot Ones was founded by American media company, Complex Networks, and is described as part of the network’s food-drven video franchises that shine a light on pop-culture, music, travel and more. Through a partnership between Complex Networks and Tempo Networks, Hot Ones Caribbean was launched in 2021 and had its first season in Trinidad and Tobago.
