NCB employee charged with multiple counts of fraud

After questioning from Fraud Squad detectives, NCB Capital Markets employee Khadene Thomas, was charged in the presence of her attorney on Monday (January 16).

Thomas was arrested on Friday in relation to allegations that she defrauded the account of a customer between January 2020 and December 2022 whilst employed to NCB Capital Markets as a wealth advisor. 

The accused was initially thought to have defrauded US$30,000, but a follow-up audit has revealed that the figure is almost five times higher at US$143,000 or more than J$20 million. 

Thomas has been charged with forgery, uttering forged documents, unauthorised access to computer data, access with intent to commit an offence, larceny as a servant and engaging in a transaction involving criminal property.

She remains in custody to appear in the St Ann’s Bay parish court on Friday (January 20).
