The New Age Regenerative Medicine: Stem Cell Diabetes Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention Seminar, focused on innovative approaches to managing diabetes and preventing lower extremity complications will take place on November 7 and 8, at the Jamaica Conference Center.
With the increasing prevalence of diabetes in the Caribbean, the Stem Cell Diabetic Lower Extremity Amputation Prevention (SCDLEAP) Association conceptualized this seminar to empower and educate individuals with diabetes, caregivers of persons with diabetes medical professionals and the general public about diabetes care and management, and the numerous benefits of stem cell therapy and its mechanisms.
Diabetes, a chronic metabolic condition, poses a significant health challenge in the Caribbean, contributing to chronic illnesses, long-term disability and premature loss of life.
This two-day event will bring together local and international speakers, researchers and medical professionals who will provide invaluable information and personalized advice to attendees and offer the latest insights into advanced stem cell treatments.
Attendees will benefit from a range of topics, including insights on ageing, longevity and non-surgical methods to achieve a youthful appearance and discuss innovative approaches to managing common ailments such as knee and elbow pain, back pain, and other health issues. Another highlight of the seminar is stem cell applications in veterinary medicine which will explore connections between groundbreaking research with animals—particularly dogs and horses—and its implications for diabetes treatment in humans.
Stem cells are indispensable in both male and female reproductive systems and have a profound impact on reproductive health and fertility. Understanding the role of stem cells in these systems can lead to advancements in reproductive medicine, including treatments for infertility and reproductive disorders. Further research into stem cell therapies may offer hope for individuals struggling with fertility issues and pave the way for improved reproductive health outcomes in both men and women.
The seminar will also focus on the emerging research on cannabis as a potential therapeutic agent for diabetes management; the critical factors that impact food security in diabetes management and coronary and peripheral artery disease. Individuals with diabetes are also set to benefit from the launch of a specialized podiatry franchise that will enhance access to essential foot care services. This event is supported by The National Health Fund, FootCare Rx, Podiatry of Jamaica and the Caribbean.
