United Kingdom-based Arsenal Football Club, in collaboration with adidas, has released a new pre-match jersey that pays homage to the Jamaicans living in London and on the Caribbean island.

The jersey features the colours of the Jamaican flag – an all-over geometric print in green, gold and black.

The release of the jersey comes just in time for the return of Notting Hill Carnival this weekend – a weekend carnival celebration that takes place every year in Notting Hill, Kensington, England.

“Football is nothing without the fans, and I’m proud to see adidas and my club continuing to support our supporters from all backgrounds – just like we did when we launched our home shirt this year. It’s a stunning shirt and I’m looking forward to wearing it.”

Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe

The jersey will be showcased across the weekend at Notting Hill Carnival, and ahead of Arsenal’s men’s first-team game against Fulham in the English Premier League tomorrow (August 27).
