TikTok has unveiled the “Add to Music App” feature which allows users in the US and UK to seamlessly save and enjoy their favourite TikTok-discovered tunes directly on Apple Music, Amazon Music and Spotify.
Known as a global hotspot for music discovery, TikTok has taken a step further to bridge the gap between viral trends and actual music consumption. The “Add to Music App” button, strategically placed next to a track name in the For You Feed, empowers users to effortlessly save songs to their preferred streaming service.
Upon clicking the “Add Song” button for the first time, users can choose to save the track to their music streaming service of choice. The selected track will then be stored in a default playlist on the chosen platform, with options to create new playlists or add the song to existing ones.
Ole Obermann, TikTok’s global head of music business development, emphasised the feature’s role in creating a direct link between music discovery on TikTok and consumption on streaming services. This connection aims to enhance the overall music experience for fans while providing artistes with greater visibility and engagement.

Amazon Music’s director of business development, Karolina Joynathsing, expressed the platform’s commitment to transforming serendipitous music moments into enduring fandom. She described the collaboration with TikTok on the “Add to Music App” feature as a significant step towards achieving this goal.
Sten Garmark, vice president and global head of consumer experience at Spotify, underlined the mission to bring artists and fans together. He emphasised the importance of creating seamless ways for users to save songs to Spotify, ensuring they can enjoy their favourite tunes effortlessly across platforms and devices.
The feature is currently being rolled out to users in the US and UK, with plans to expand to more markets in the future. Amazon Music Prime members and Amazon Music Unlimited customers can avail of the feature, and users can choose between the music apps already installed on their phones. Tracks will be automatically saved to default locations based on the selected streaming service.
