The National Health Fund (NHF) is advising the public of its NHFCard Centres that are open and ready to assist persons who lost their NHFCards during the passage of Hurricane Melissa. Individuals who need a replacement card are invited to visit any of the open locations and speak with a representative to receive a new card.

• All NHFCard Centres are currently operating. Members of the public may visit any of these locations:
  St Elizabeth: Santa Cruz Health Centre, Black River Hospital 
• Westmoreland: Savanna-la-Mar Public General Hospital
• Hanover: Noel Holmes Hospital 
• St James: Cornwall Regional Hospital, Mount Salem Health Centre
• Trelawny: Falmouth Hospital
• St Ann: St. Ann’s Bay Hospital
• Clarendon: May Pen Hospital, Lionel Town Hospital
• Manchester: Mandeville Regional Hospital, Percy Junor Hospital
• St Mary: Port Maria Hospital
• St Catherine: Spanish Town Hospital, Linstead Hospital, Greater Portmore Health Centre Drug Serv
• Kingston & St. Andrew: NHF Head Office, Kingston Public Hospital, Union Square Drug Serv
• St Thomas: Princess Margaret Hospital
• Portland: Port Antonio Hospital

Opening hours for the NHFCard centres are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and for Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., except for the NHF Head Office, where the opening hours are 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and on Fridays from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 

The NHF remains committed to ensuring uninterrupted access to subsidised medication for all beneficiaries using the NHFCard. This service is especially critical as many Jamaicans continue to rebuild and regain stability following Melissa.

Across the six parishes most impacted by the hurricane, 118 of 148 NHF Provider Pharmacies are currently operational, representing an 80% service restoration. The parish breakdown is as follows:

• St Elizabeth: 19 of 24 open (79%)
• Westmoreland: 21 of 26 open (81%)
• St James: 28 of 40 open (70%)
• Hanover: 7 of 11 open (64%)
• Trelawny: 7 of 10 open (70%)
• St Ann: 36 of 37 open (97%)

The reopening of the NHF Participating Pharmacies ensures that residents in the hardest-hit areas may continue filling prescriptions and accessing the discounts offered on the NHFCard.
