The fourth Nigeria-Jamaica Joint Commission will be held next week in the Nigerian capital of Abuja. 

The meeting will be held from Tuesday, February 22 to Thursday, February 24.

The joint commission governs the framework for cooperation between the two countries. 

Foreign Affairs Minister Kamina Johnson Smith will be leading the Jamaican delegation to the Joint Commission, which is reported to be the first-ever visit of the Jamaican Government to Nigeria.

This meeting is expected to help strengthen the historical and cultural linkages as well as solidify new partnerships, a significant step towards advancing several agreements in entertainment, air services, tourism and other areas as well as enhancing trade between the countries. 

Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigerian Ambassador to Jamaica Maureen Tamuno, and the entire Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs are expectant to receive the Jamaican delegation in Abuja.
