Nigerian High Commissioner Maureen Tamuno bids farewell to Jamaica

Nigerian High Commissioner, Ambassador Maureen Tamuno, is bidding farewell to Jamaica as she winds up her tour of duty in the island.

She made a farewell courtesy visit to Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Kamina Johnson Smith on Thursday (November 9). The meeting was necessary to inform the host government of her successful tour of duty as well as her subsequent departure.

Minister Johnson-Smith, while thanking Tamuno for her visit, also expressed sadness over her departure, while applauded the Nigerian diplomat’s contribution in advancing bilateral cooperation between her country and Jamaica also at the multilateral level.

Johnson-Smith remarked that Ambassador Tamuno has left behind big shoe and hopes her successor will build on the achievements so far, while wishing her well on her future endeavors.

Ambassador Tamuno was accompanied on the visit by top staff of the Nigerian High Commissioner namely Tajudeen Abdulkadir, minister/counsellor; Isaac Akparobi, finance attaché; Agatha Odika, immigration attaché; and Arafat Bage, counselor officer.

Tamuno was appointed as Nigerian High Commissioner in Jamaica in 2021 by the former president Muhammadu Buhari.
