Nintendo has launched its new music app, offering fans an extensive library of video game soundtracks from beloved titles, including Super Mario and The Legend of Zelda.
The app is available on both Android and iOS devices and is currently available in select regions worldwide, including the US, UK, Japan, and Australia.
To access the Nintendo Music app, users will need a Nintendo Switch Online membership and an active Nintendo account. The app does not require a Nintendo Switch console, making it accessible to all.
The app features an eclectic range of soundtracks from classic and contemporary games, including Splatoon 3, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Users can explore preset playlists organised by games, genres, characters, and moods, or create their own custom playlists, similar to popular music streaming services like Spotify and YouTube Music.
Nintendo has introduced a spoiler-prevention feature to allow users to avoid soundtracks from games they have yet to play by hiding specific tracks from their library. The tracks remain hidden until the user chooses the game from the feature.
Additionally, the app includes an Extend feature, enabling users to loop tracks for 15, 30, or 60 minutes, allowing for an immersive listening experience.
While the app has received positive attention, it is currently unavailable in India, with hopes for future expansions into more regions.
