The HEART/NSTA Trust has denied reports that two of its locations were raided by the Major Organized Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) Friday morning.

“The Trust uses this opportunity to clarify those reports and advise the public that no raids were conducted on any of our premises.

“The current investigation into the matter was initiated by the Trust based on an anomaly detected as a result of our robust internal system of governance and was referred to MOCA during 2018-2019 fiscal year,” the Trust said in a release on Friday.

The Trust added: “The current leadership of HEART/NSTA is aware of the ongoing investigation and remains cooperative with MOCA and remains committed to acting responsibly to ensure the investigation is not compromised.”

The Trust further stated that no current employee is under investigation or was taken into custody.

The Trust said: “We further advise that the Trust has a robust governance structure and strong leadership that allows us to do necessary checks and audits and uses this process to advise and invite any relevant agency to assist in investigations.

“We urge members of the public and the media to rely on accurate information and refrain from circulating unverified reports. The Trust remains committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of its operations. We have fully cooperated with MOCA since the commencement of this investigation and will continue to provide any necessary support to ensure a thorough and just resolution to the matter.

“It is important to note that the HEART/NSTA Trust is steadfast in its mission to transform lives through Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and this matter does not impede our ability to deliver on that mandate.

Minister Dixon says she is particularly disappointed by remarks from Opposition Leader Mark Golding who used a political platform to disparage the buses as “old” and proposed that school children be transported by “di likkle man who have dem pro-box and AR wagon”.
