Officials have clarified that the deceased found in the wheel compartment of a JetBlue aircraft on Monday, January 6, are not Jamaican nationals, though their identities remain unverified.

The grim discovery was made during routine post-flight maintenance following Flight 1801’s arrival from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. JetBlue has launched an investigation to determine how the individuals accessed the aircraft’s wheel well.

The aircraft began its journey in Kingston, Jamaica, as stated by the Transportation Security Administration. It then flew to JFK Airport in New York, proceeded to Salt Lake City, Utah, returned to JFK, and finally landed in Fort Lauderdale. According to Van Cleave, the plane overnighted in Kingston after arriving from JFK on January 5.
