Beleaguered United States national Kalina Collier may have gotten herself fired due to her controversial actions in Jamaica, but Our Today readers are far from satisfied.

The results from our latest poll indicate an overwhelming partiality by Jamaicans readers to have the embattled Collier banned from the island altogether.

When asked, “Should JetBlue Airline stewardess Kalina Collier be banned from ever returning to Jamaica?”, nearly 79.5 per cent of respondents voted yes to an outright declaration of the 22-year-old Queens native as persona non grata

Another 20.5 per cent of Our Today readers felt a ban was too extreme and that she should be allowed back into Jamaica on the condition Collier apologise to the country.

None of the respondents voted for Collier to return to Jamaica ‘without the need for an apology’.

Hours after being suspended by JetBlue Airways on Tuesday (February 16), the company confirmed to Our Today that she was later fired, with immediate effect.

In a brief statement, Derek Dombrowski, JetBlue’s Manager of Corporate Communications, apologised on behalf of the company.

“We continue to offer our apologies for the frustration and concern this incident has caused and reiterate our confidence in the health protocols Jamaica has put in place,” Dombrowski said in an update.
