Not your regular Shirley biscuits – Woman caught with cocaine hidden in popular snack packets

Fifty-nine-year-old Unique Sunshine London of Haslington, Guyana was caught with 11.188 kilograms of cocaine concealed in Shirley biscuit and other snack packets at the country’s main airport, Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) this past Wednesday (September 14).

London was escorted to the country’s anti-narcotics unit (CANU) where the drugs were weighed and valued at approximately US$336,000.

London was allegedly an outgoing passenger destined for the John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) before the cocaine was discovered in her carry-on luggage.

For decades, Guyana has been a key drug trafficking point for contraband heading to the US and Europe, especially cocaine, due to its position near other South American countries.
