Novamed, the holding company for Summit and Catalyst, has unveiled its first co-working space to connect entrepreneurs, creatives and industry leaders while addressing the growing demand for flexible workspaces.

David Walcott, founder and managing partner of Novamed, made the announcement during the soft launch event held at the Summit in late January.

Addressing an exclusive gathering of partners, entrepreneurs, and start-ups, Walcott highlighted the significance of this milestone. “Catalyst Campus represents a major step in fostering innovation and professional collaboration within the healthcare and business industries,” he said.

“We are pushing the boundaries of traditional office spaces, offering our clients access to best-in-class co-working space, Summit’s central courtyard, cafes, restaurants, business service providers, and recreational areas, creating a unique and vibrant community — all within one dynamic environment,” Walcott continued.

This initiative which is supported by key stakeholders, including the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), saw attendees having the opportunity to tour the thoughtfully designed 3,000-square-foot workspace located on the second floor of Summit.

This workspace offers diverse work environments, including private offices, dedicated desks, communal co-working space, meeting rooms, and enhanced, all-inclusive amenities to support productivity and collaboration.

“The goal was to design a space that acknowledged that collaboration has a natural rhythm requiring both moments of solitude and group interaction,” explained Ryan Gentles, architect and interior designer of Catalyst Campus.

“The architectural design involved the transformation of seven hotel rooms into dynamic, functional office spaces, reflecting a modern industrial aesthetic. Exposed soffits replaced conventional gypsum ceilings, showcasing the building’s raw structural elements, such as conduit and A/C pipes. These elements were creatively integrated into the design, with perforated aluminum mesh cleverly concealing them while maintaining an open, industrial feel,” Gantles added.

He also revealed that the routing of PVC pipes, paired with surface-mounted lighting, adds a playful yet sophisticated layer to the space, emphasizing the importance of marrying the visual appeal with the innovative spirit of the co-working environment.

Strategically located in the busy city centre of New Kingston, Catalyst Campus is surrounded by lush greenery designed to enhance creativity, innovation, and well-being—a sustainable design feature central to Novamed’s business acquisitions.

“We are deeply committed to health and wellness, and Catalyst Campus honours that tradition by offering a space that thrives on beauty, elegance, and nature,” said Samantha Johnson, general manager at Catalyst.

“We are a highly ambitious brand, and this move is just one step in our broader vision. Our goal is to expand our presence in the healthcare and business sector to empower business entrepreneurs and support innovation,” continued Johnson.
