The National Water Commission (NWC) has made major progress in sections of St Andrew, following the completion of major pipeline installation activities as part of the Munroe to Seaview Avenue Pipeline Project.

For the $1.2 billion project, the NWC is installing new sewer mains and potable water pipelines in areas such as Seymour Avenue, Seaview Avenue, Wellington Drive and Munroe Road.

After completing the major pipeline installation activities, the NWC has now undertaken the full road reinstatement in Retreat Avenue and Seymour Avenue. Further road reinstatement for the remainder of Seymour Lands, as well as Wellington Drive, was originally scheduled for October 31, 2025. It must be noted, however, that reinstatement on Wellington Drive is dependent on the decommissioning of the 4-inch diameter pipeline and minimal weather interruptions.

Once the upgrades are completed, both residential and commercial properties in the project areas will have the opportunity to connect to the new sewer transmission network. This will replace outdated systems, reduce the risk of blockages and overflows and significantly improve efficiency. The new water pipelines will also strengthen the reliability of the supply, addressing complaints of leaks and service interruptions in the area.

The Commission extends sincere thanks to residents, business operators and motorists for their patience and cooperation throughout the project and reaffirms its commitment to completing the remaining reinstatement works to further enhance road conditions and community access.
