The National Water Commission (NWC) says that despite ongoing restiveness among segments of its technical staff, the management team is actively working to minimise any impact on the delivery of water services to its valued customers.

The NWC, in a statement, outlined that their response management is twofold: to continue engagement with the parties that are restive and other relevant stakeholders in order to address the issues raised and to undertake the necessary remedial steps to safeguard water supply distribution to customers.

The commission further stated that concerns may arise from the current situation and wishes to reassure the public that its teams remain committed to fulfilling its mandate of providing reliable water and wastewater services across the island.

“Notwithstanding these efforts, there are some systems that are currently affected and will result in some disruption to water supply distribution. The NWC is striving to have these systems restarted in the shortest possible time.

“In the interim, arrangements are being made to deliver trucked water to these areas in order to provide relief to our customers,” NWC said.

The NWC will continue to provide updates.
