The New York Giants have parted ways with head coach Brian Daboll on Monday (November 10), less than a day after another fourth-quarter collapse.
Daboll’s tenure in New York ends with a 20-40-1 record, a rollercoaster ride that started with promise but quickly spiralled. Hired in January 2022, he led the Giants to a 9-7-1 record in his first season, including a playoff win on the road against the Vikings. But that early success proved fleeting.
The NFL team struggled through 6-11 in 2023 and 3-14 in 2024, with this season already off to a rocky 2-8 start. Sunday’s 24-20 loss in Chicago, blowing a 10-point fourth-quarter lead, was just the latest in a string of brutal late-game defeats, including a meltdown against the Broncos after leading by 18 points and another collapse against the Cowboys.
For now, offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will step in as interim head coach while general manager Joe Schoen, who originally hired Daboll, remains in charge.
