Ocean7 Rooftop Bar & Grill emerged as one of the hotspots for Mother’s Day celebrations on Sunday, welcoming scores of families to its waterfront dining experience featuring a specially curated menu, complimentary drinks for all females, and panoramic ocean views. Held at Victoria Pier on Ocean Boulevard, the event blended elevated dining with a relaxed rooftop atmosphere as guests spent the afternoon and evening enjoying seafood dishes, steaks, cocktails, and desserts against the backdrop of the Kingston harbour.

The restaurant remained packed throughout the day, with families continuing to file in and patiently await available seating as the celebrations carried into the evening. Guests indulged in entrées including lemon-butter grilled salmon, shrimp thermidor, stuffed chicken breast with callaloo and cream cheese, sirloin steak with demi-glace, and Hellshire-style whole snapper, while appetisers such as creamy pumpkin soup and tomato bruschetta, alongside desserts including strawberry cheesecake and carrot and nuts rum cake, rounded out the dining experience.

Ocean7 also catered to younger diners with a dedicated kids’ menu featuring chicken tenders and fries alongside club sandwiches served with fries, allowing entire families to comfortably enjoy the celebration together while overlooking the Kingston waterfront.

Owner Howard James said he was grateful for the strong turnout and praised the restaurant team for managing the high demand throughout the day.

“We’re extremely grateful for the support and turnout we received for Mother’s Day,” James said. “The restaurant was full from early and families just kept coming in, but our team worked hard to manage the demand and ensure guests still received quality service and a memorable experience. At Ocean7, we remain committed to delivering good food, good service, and an atmosphere people can truly enjoy.”

Guests were welcomed with complimentary drinks for all mothers, while the restaurant’s “casually elegant” dress code added to the polished ambience throughout the day. Many patrons took advantage of the rooftop setting to capture photos overlooking the waterfront while dining.

Among those in attendance was Genieve Austin, who described the experience as both relaxing and enjoyable.

“The view and atmosphere really stood out for me,” Austin said. “It felt peaceful, the food was excellent, and it was nice being able to spend quality time with family in such a beautiful setting.”

Throughout the event, Ocean7 maintained a steady flow of diners as families gathered for both lunch and dinner service. The rooftop venue, known for its oceanfront dining experience, leaned into visually plated meals and lifestyle-focused presentation, with seafood dishes and cocktails proving especially popular among guests.

As the evening progressed, the restaurant transitioned into a more intimate dinner atmosphere, with patrons lingering over desserts and cocktails while overlooking the Kingston harbour at sunset.
