The Overseas Examinations Commission (OEC) is set to construct a state-of-the-art multipurpose facility that will revolutionize the administration of exams in Jamaica.

The examination commission on September 18 marked a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of the facility alongside the celebration of its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

This global standard for quality management underscores the OEC’s commitment to providing exceptional services in education and assessment.

The new facility, set for completion in 2026, will feature four stories of advanced technology, including augmented and virtual reality labs, specialized testing rooms, and modern computer labs.

Designed for 24/7 operation, it aims to transform the administration of examinations across Jamaica and the Caribbean, establishing itself as a digital hub for efficient assessment processing.

The ceremony was attended by the Honourable Fayval Williams, Minister of Education and Youth, who praised the OEC’s visionary approach.

Other dignitaries, including Dr. Kasan Troupe, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Youth, Mayor Andrew Swaby, and Minister Julian Robinson, also commended the OEC for its innovative leadership in educational facilities.
