Olympic 400mh champ Dalilah Muhammad among stars for Ja int’l athletics meet

The 2016 Summer Olympics 400-meter hurdles female champion, Dalilah Muhammad, is the latest international athlete to confirm for the Jamaica Athletics Invitational.

The former world record holder has the distinction of being silver medallist at the Tokyo Games. She is also a two-time world champion and a world record holder.

Also among the stars down to compete are those emerging Jamaicans who have all made significant strides in their respective events.

They are:

  • Alana Ried – 100m – National Junior Record holder
  • Olympian Briana Williams – 100m
  • Nkumie Bouwahgue – 100m – Jamaica National Record holder, and
  • Sandrey Davison – 100m – Fastest Jamaican over the distance to date

Athletes’ liaison Marvin Anderson is pleased with the confirmed list, to date, and is excited at the “level of competition the athletes and fans should experience. We are anticipating a very competitive series on the track and in the field.”

The May 11 event already has tickets online and ticket locations will open May 4. Grandstand tickets are J$3,000 and J$2,500, while the bleachers are FREE.

The meet will run from 7 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. and will also feature an after-party.
