Win draw or lose, all athletes that represented Jamaica at the 2024 Olympic Games will get a share of the $45m grant by the Government of Jamaica, according to Minister of Sports Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grang.

“I have $45m allocated to provide Appreciation Grants to members of Jamaica’s delegation to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games,” said Grange who was speaking at the launch of the Grand Slam Track Series at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on Monday.

Meanwhile Junior athletes who competed at the World Athletics Under-20 Championships in Lima, Peru will also receive gift vouchers, totaling $760,000 from the ministry.

Grange said the money was being disbursed directly to 66 athletes, including one Paralympian, and 21 athlete support personnel who formed Jamaica’s delegation to the games.

She said the Appreciation Grants are “in addition to over $20 million disbursed to athletes under the Athletes Assistance Programme,” as they prepared for the Paris Games.
