Jamaican sprint legend Usain Bolt says he is staying strong despite it being a year since he discovered that millions of dollars have been missing from his investment account with Stocks and Securities Limited (SSL), which are yet to be recovered.

Bolt, in a video on Thursday, January 11, said: “Yow peeps, so it has been one year, year one year now, the year just start. Just want unu know say me deh yah a fight the fight, still a hold on, always ago stay strong, you know how the country youths do it. To all the people who did a support me continue support, a nothing but love alright.”

According to reports, Bolt’s account with the investment firm was at a balance of US$12.75 million up to October 31, 2022. However, in January of last year, the account was discovered to have been mysteriously depleted to US$12,047.65.

The eight-time Olympic gold medallist, through his attorneys, is still trying to recover the funds from the investment company.

A multimillion-dollar fraud probe is still ongoing at the investment firm since it was launched in January. Reports are that more than 200 accounts have been impacted, exceeding US$30 million.

Jean-Ann Panton, a former employee, is the sole person charged so far in relation to the multibillion-dollar fraud at the company.
