Ongoing road works in St Elizabeth North Eastern

Member of Parliament for St. Elizabeth North Eastern, Delroy Slowley, makes his contribution to the State of the Constituency Debate in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

Member of Parliament for St Elizabeth North Eastern, Delroy Slowley, says extensive road rehabilitation works have been taking place in the constituency.

To this end, Slowley informed that substantial progress has been made in key infrastructure projects, including the Santa Cruz to Leeds corridor.

“This extensive road rehabilitation, valued at over $100 million, is 98 per cent complete. This project has significantly improved the road network, benefiting both local commuters and the broader transportation system,” he said.

Slowley was making his contribution to the State of the Constituency Debate in the House of Representatives on December 3.

Regarding the Lacovia to Burnt Savannah corridor, Slowley said the project, also valued at over $100 million, is set to commence in the coming year, and “we are confident it will bring much-needed improvements to this important stretch”.

For the Number Road, the Member of Parliament said this vital road has now been fully rehabilitated, bringing significant relief to the community.

Also, the Ginger Peace roadway in Georges Valley, Braes River Division, has been rehabilitated after being in a state of disrepair for over 40 years.

Slowley also informed that the rehabilitation of the Hope River road in the Santa Cruz Division has been completed, ensuring a safer and more reliable route for residents.
