Fitz Jackson, MP, Opposition Spokesperson on National Security, has condemned the deadly shooting in Commodore, Linstead, which claimed the lives of five people and left several others injured.

“I extend heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of those whose lives were so cruelly taken. The continued slaughter of Jamaicans is a grim reminder that our nation remains far from securing true safety for its people. I pray that the families and community will find the strength to endure this terrible pain,” said Jackson.

He commended the police for their swift response but urged a relentless pursuit of justice. “I call on the police to leave no stone unturned in tracking down those responsible. I also appeal to anyone with information to come forward and assist the authorities,” he added.

Member of Parliament for North Central St Catherine, Natalie Neita Garvey, also expressed her sorrow and solidarity with the community.

“This is a dark day for the people of Commodore. My deepest sympathies go out to the grieving families and all those traumatised by this act of violence. We must stand together and work with the police to rid our communities of crime and bloodshed,” MP Neita Garvey said.

The Opposition maintains that urgent, effective, and sustained action is required to reduce violent crime and restore a sense of security across Jamaica.
