In recognition of World Mental Health Day, Optimum Jamaica partnered with the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the South-East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) to show solidarity and support for Jamaicans affected by mental illness.
The event held at St William Grant Park in downtown Kingston brought together community leaders, health professionals, and local residents. There, representatives from Optimum Jamaica engaged directly with members of the public, sharing information about the company’s products and services while encouraging open dialogue around mental health awareness.
In support of the day’s activities, the Optimum team also handed out complimentary water and provided 250 meals to the dedicated staff and volunteers assisting persons impacted by mental illness.
Attendees also participated in several giveaways and interactive sessions aimed at spreading positivity and promoting the importance of mental well-being.

Dr Kevin Goulbourne, director of mental health and substance abuse at the ministry, emphasised his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating: “Our partnership with Optimum Jamaica supports our mission to provide the necessary resources that help individuals achieve mental well-being. This collaboration also highlights how positive workplace practices can promote mental health and boost productivity. We thank Optimum Jamaica for their continued commitment to holistic care and for supporting a wide range of people through their outreach efforts.”
Optimum senior director Leon Davis shared the sentiment and highlighted the significance of this partnership: “Optimum Jamaica remains committed to fostering meaningful partnerships that uplift communities and contribute to the holistic well-being of all Jamaicans. At Optimum, we believe that when communities thrive, our nation thrives, and we are proud to play our part in helping Jamaica move forward together.”

Optimum Jamaica says it provides in-house mental health resources for its staff, including free therapy and counselling for employees, wellness sessions and a variety of engagement activities designed to give personnel a mental break, reduce stress, and promote overall wellbeing. These initiatives reflect the company’s belief that mental well-being is essential both inside and outside the workplace.
