Original Green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank, has died

The world has lost its original green Power Ranger, Jason David Frank.

The 49-year-old actor, who found international fame playing Tommy Oliver in the hit children’s show, died today (November 20) in an apparent suicide.

Posting on Facebook, his trainer and close friend, Mike Bronzoulis, wrote: “RIP my brother from another mother Jason David Frank I’m still in shock  I’m feeling terrible he called left me a message and I took too long.” 

He added: “Jason was a good friend to me and I will miss him. Love n prayers for his wife Tammy and their kids, I pray that God gets yall through this difficult time.”

As Tommy Oliver, Frank was only set to appear in 14 episodes during the hit 1990s original Power Rangers series, but the character proved so popular that he was brought back as the White Ranger and the new leader of the team.

He would go on the appear in 124 episodes of the original Power Rangers until 1996, and continued appearing in various Power Rangers television series, video games and movies at least up to 2018.
