The website of the Office of the Services Commissions (OSC) has been hacked and defaced with gambling content, IT Security Consultant Gavin Dennis has disclosed.

Dennis took to his social media page on X.com, revealing that “this site was using WordPress, which is also the most attacked CMS platform. Securing it requires a lot of work.”

The OSC is the secretariat for four (4) Services Commissions: the Public Service Commission, the Police Service Commission, the Judicial Service Commission and the Local Government Services Commission.

The OSC also provides centralised stenotype services (that is, the recording and production of verbatim notes) to all ministries, departments and executive agencies for recording the proceedings of conferences, commissions of enquiries, disciplinary enquiries and the Gun Court.

Under the Constitution of Jamaica, the Governor-General, acting on the advice of the Public Service Commission, the Police Service Commission and the Judicial Service Commission, has the power to make appointments to public offices, to exercise disciplinary control, and to remove persons holding or acting in any such office.
