Global and local leaders, policymakers and other stakeholders within Jamaica’s robust global services sector will be gathering at the Montego Bay Convention Center on April 10, 2025 for the 5th staging of Outsource2Jamaica (O2J2025).
The annual event will be held under the theme “Driving Excellence: Talent Technology and Transformation” and is expected to showcase Jamaica’s immense potential as a hub for business process outsourcing (BPO), knowledge process outsourcing (KPO), and information technology-enabled services (ITES).
Dr Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica and Senator Aubyn Hill, Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, will be among the main speakers. Other government officials and industry experts are also slated to address those in attendance at the event.
O2J2025 Chairman Gloria Henry, said the theme, “Driving Excellence” is underpinned by the main pillars supporting the industry – talent, technology and transformation.
“This bold vision for Jamaica reflects our commitment to driving excellence and embracing innovation, ensuring the global services sector continues to thrive and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development,” said Henry, who is also director of the Global Services Association of Jamaica (GSAJ).
“Under the presidency of Wayne Sinclair, our sector is poised for a transformation to position Jamaica as a leader in the fourth industrial revolution. It’s not just about adopting artificial intelligence, but using it strategically to enhance productivity, improve service quality, and support industries beyond BPO, such as logistics, healthcare, and education,” she explained.
Sinclair said emerging technologies such as generative AI, deep-tech, and quantum computing are expected to create millions of jobs in the global services sector. According to the 2024 Global Business Services Industry Report by Benchmark International, in 2023 the market was valued at approximately $203.7 billion and is projected to reach a staggering $1.38 trillion by 2032, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 21 per cent
“The future of Jamaica’s global services sector looks more promising than ever. Local players continue to advance a sector wide corporate culture of flexibility, adaptation and innovation. The national strategy aims to reposition Jamaica as a higher-value destination while building on its existing strengths as a credible nearshore customer service hub,” he said.
The GSAJ is partnering with Ryan Strategic Advisory firm to have a specially selected suite of buyers, analysts and brokers from the United States and other outsourcing countries attend and participate in meetings with local stakeholders. Other overseas partners are Tim Casey, chief executive officer of Teleperformance Specialized Services and Jim Iyoob, the vice-president of Etech Global Solutions.
Participants at this year’s staging of Outsource2Jamaica will be able to take part in several panel discussions, including one panel discussion, where industry experts will explore how businesses can successfully transition into the digital global service economy. Sponsors will be exposed to opportunities for visibility, networking, and engagement with key players in the sector.
