Over 30 roads in South East St Mary are slated for rehabilitation under the Shared Prosperity through Accelerated Programme (SPARK), the Relief Emergency Assistance and Community Help (REACH) Programme, and a Christmas programme.
Member of Parliament for the constituency Norman Dunn made the disclosure during his contribution to the state of the constituency debate on Tuesday, October 15.
He highlighted specific roads scheduled for upgrades, including Belfield Pen, Belfield Works, Berniard, Clarke, Luna, Lunafield, Platfield, Camberwell, Long Road, Mount Regale, Epsom, Fort George, Rock River, and Gibbs Hill.

Dunn emphasized that the National Works Agency (NWA) will also address other roads as part of a major road improvement initiative, enhancing the overall infrastructure.
Additionally, he noted that the Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) will be upgrading both the Belfield Line Road and the Breniard to Platfield Road.
“I am also requesting further assistance to address Rosemount Road, Belfield Pen, Long Road, Camberwell Road, and Georges Hope Road which are equally in need of improvement, as these are agricultural areas where farmers need their produce to be able to go to the market,” he noted.
The MP said consultations through the SPARK programme have already taken place in the entire constituency, with residents actively participating in discussions about which roads they want to see addressed and fixed. He said these recommendations have been taken into consideration, and he is committed to addressing these concerns.
“We look forward to the positive changes the SPARK programme will bring to our constituency and are eager to see these roads addressed,” Dunn said.
