Actor and comedian Steve Martin has taken to social platform Twitter to say he received the COVID-19 vaccine; calling the process “smooth as silk”.

Fans subsequently got in a frenzy asking where and how Martin signed up. One fan in particular, @dutchgirl62, said she had trouble getting her 83-year-old mother vaccinated.

“I signed up ON line through an NYC dot gov website (sorry I don’t have the exact site), and waited IN line at the Javits Center,” Martin said.

He later quipped, “Right now, I’m having no fide resects.” as he made the public aware that, while others may experienced negative effects, he did not.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has indicated that some reported side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine are pain and swelling on the arm where the patient received the shot.

In addition to Martin, retail businesswoman and television personality Martha Stewart is another public figure who has taken to social media to say she was recently vaccinated.

Martha Stewart, retail businesswoman and television personality, receives the COVID-19 vaccine.

“I was vaccinated today in a designated vaccine pod near the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Downtown,” the 79-year-old said in an Instagram post about a week ago.

She also said on Instagram that she too had waited in line to receive the vaccine.

All the best to Martin and Stewart as they hopefully continue to have no ‘fide resects’.
