The Palace Amusement Company has appointed Steven Cooke as Assistant Managing Director, a strategic addition to the executive team that underscores the company’s commitment to planning and innovation while ensuring that cinema remains a preferred option with cutting-edge technology.
Steven brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having previously spearheaded startup operations and managed several Palace Cinemas, to the most recent key executive roles in the company as concessions manager and head of screen advertising.
With a proven track record of honing his skills at Palace Amusement for well over thirty-six years, his contribution to the company has always been extended beyond his substantive roles. In addition to his managerial skills, he is technologically savvy and well-equipped to support the transformation and operational efficiency of the company in its ongoing mission to redefine the movie-going experience.
Steven was pivotal in the roll-out and implementation of premium format 4DX technology at the company’s flagship Carib 5 cinema in June 2024. A move, which has revolutionised movie-going through an immersive multi-sensory experience, including synchronised motion seats and environmental effects such as rain, wind, fog, scent and more.
In 2023, he spearheaded the advancement of Palace Amusement’s digital transformation process aimed at optimising all areas of business, including customer experience, internal processes and strategic operations. The ongoing modernisation of the Company’s interactive website and digital app are among some of the major initiatives focused on facilitating patrons and fuelling growth.

In his new role, effective 8 October 2024, Steven assists the Managing Director with film acquisition and distribution and overseeing day-to-day operations, including collaborating with Management to achieve performance targets and establish strategies aimed at efficiency, fostering growth and reinforcing the company’s position as an industry leader. “I am honoured to be appointed Assistant Managing Director and look forward to continuing my contribution to the renowned and distinctive footprint of The Palace Amusement Company,” said Steven Cooke. “As one of Jamaica’s leading and most long-standing companies, we will continue to achieve remarkable milestones and set new standards in the entertainment industry.”
Steven holds a Master of Professional Studies in International Business from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. He is the proud father of Cameron and Christian and in addition to movie-going, enjoys mountain biking, calisthenics and racing sailboats.
