Paramount Trading appoints four new directors

Paramount Trading Limited has appointed four new directors to its board at its recently held annual general meeting (AGM).

They are attorney, Kathryn Lewis-Green; marketing executive, Catherine Goodall Jackson; career banker, Loren Edwards and accomplished manufacturing executive and consultant, Dwight Balli.

The cadre of newly appointed directors span the financial, corporate, commercial, marketing and manufacturing sectors and their individual and collective contributions will auger well for the continued growth and development of the company.

Lewis-Green is a founding partner of the law firm and trademark agents, Lewis, Smith, Williams & Company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science from McMaster University, a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Liverpool, a Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School and a Masters of Business Administration from the Mona School of Business, University of the West Indies. 

Lewis-Green is the Chairperson of Ideal Portfolio Services company and Ideal Finance Corporation. She is also a director of the Companies Office of Jamaica and the Trade Board Jamaica Limited. She has been a director of Salada since February 2012, where she is the chairperson of its audit committee and a member of the corporate governance committee.

Credentials of other new board members

Catherine Goodall Jackson boasts over 15 years of experience in crafting targeted marketing strategies and orchestrating impactful campaigns inclusive of signature events and digital content while handling all back-end tasks with accuracy and efficiency. She has demonstrated talents for innovation, brand building, execution, channel development and leading strategic communications in several industries.   

Since 2020, she has been a business consultant at Redefine Business Services, LLC working with local companies such as GraceKennedy Group, Caribbean Producers Jamaica and LASCO Foods. Goodall Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology and Anthropology and a Masters in Business Administration from the Florida International University in Miami. 

Professional acumen of new male directors

Loren Edwards is an experienced results-oriented executive career banker with over four decades and a consistent track record in commercial banking, in general, and retail banking, in particular. His expertise has been felt at Union Bank Jamaica Limited as general manager of Banking Services, RBTT Jamaica Limited as general manager of the Retail Banking Division and most recently at the National Commercial Bank Jamaica, where he was the senior assistant general manager of Retail Banking Division.

He holds a Certificate in Business Studies from the College of Arts, Science & Technology (now the University of Technology) and an Executive Masters in Business Administration from Barry University in Miami, Florida.  He is a Lay Magistrate, Justice of the Peace for the parish of Kingston and sits as a Board Member of the Mile Gully High School, Social Development Commission (chairman of the audit committee) and Comfort Hall Primary and Infant School Board, where he is the chairman.

Dwight Balli is an accomplished manufacturing executive and consultant with over 20 years of experience in the global branded beverage industry. As production director of J. Wray & Nephew Limited, he led their manufacturing division working in various positions in engineering and core production operations.

Balli has spent his career driving mission critical objectives in improving productivity through creating synergies between people development and process automation. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (BSc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba and a Master’s of Science in Engineering Management from Florida International University in Miami, Florida, U.S.A. 

In addition to his technical qualifications, Balli has focused his professional development in the field of servant leadership and people development. He is also involved with corporate social responsibility as a director of the JWN Foundation.
