The Jamaica Meteorological Service says that partly cloudy conditions will persist across the island for the two-day Christmas holiday due to the lingering influence of a trough straddling the island.
The trough is expected to remain across the island through to Friday. A high-pressure ridge is expected to build across Jamaica thereafter.
Forcast for Christmas morning: Mostly cloudy across northern parishes, with isolated showers across eastern parishes. Partly cloudy elsewhere.
Christmas afternoon: Isolated showers and thunderstorms across northern and south-central parishes and some hilly areas elsewhere, otherwise mostly cloudy.
Tonight: Partly cloudy.
Meanwhile, the maximum temperature expected for Kingston and Montego Bay today is 31 and 30 degrees Celsius respectively.
