The days of affordable party tickets are long gone. With party promoters trying to get the most out of their investments, the prices for tickets have in some cases doubled- leaving partygoers and funseekers stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Due to cost increases that were incited by the pandemic, many businesses including the entertainment industry took a hit. A significant loss in revenue was faced and with resources needed for these industries to thrive at their ideal standard also being overall much more expensive, a cost increase was expected. However, will it ever go back to even remotely what it was before?

Unfortunately, with the cost of living generally spiking, the people’s income has yet to catch up. We are paying twice as much for almost everything with the same salary we had before the pandemic. This results in a strain economically for the majority of our citizens.

With all the stress of navigating life post pandemic, many seek parties to relax and have some fun- but it turns out that is only adding to the problem.

Tier one, two and three or VIP and VVIP. Tickets going from $10k to $20k and even higher. More money for the same experience. There are even parties that won’t allow you to bring your own coolers, leaving goers to not only spend an unreasonable amount to enter, but even more money to simply get some alcohol or, even worse, water. As these types of parties progress, the prices for the beverages and drinks increase- meaning a drink that would have cost $100 at the beginning of the night is listed at $300 by the time the party is half way through.

Being that the entertainment industry has been up and running for some time now, many are concerned that this strategy that was once used to get businesses back on their feet is now being used to exploit their target audiences.
