It’s a beautiful thing to wake up every morning and be able to do something you love.

Even more beautiful is the ability to birth a company that not only fuels your passions but enables you to derive a sustainable income.

Meet Da’nielle Bazzoni-Lawrence, the marketing guru behind your favourite brand campaigns, and owner and managing director of Zone Marketing Limited.

Hailing from Clarendon and a proud product of Glenmuir High School (‘Flagrans Veritatis Studio’ forever!), Bazzoni-Lawrence has acted as the owner and operator of her business since its inception in 2018.

Interesting to note, however, is that while the Zone Marketing CEO today boasts a love for all things marketing, growing up she never imagined that this was the path her life’s journey would take.

Speaking with Our Today earlier this month, the Glenmuir alumni shared: “I initially gained a pre-law certificate with the intention of pursuing law. I pursued a bachelors in law at the University of Technology, but, a year into my law degree, I realised while I enjoyed it and did well academically, I wasn’t passionate about it.”

With the knowledge that her passions did not lie in law, she made the decision to pursue a major in management studies with a minor in operations management at the University of the West Indies, Mona following which she discovered her love for the world of marketing.

A product of her newfound love, Zone Marketing Limited, a cutting-edge state-of-the-art marketing house, was born.

Bazzoni-Lawrence revealed that the company’s name was inspired by a nickname derived from her maiden name.

“My maiden name is Bazzoni, it became a source for nicknames,” said the Glenmuir alumni. “Very few people call me Da’nielle. Most call me Bazzoni. ‘Zoney’ became the more constant version of my last name, so I thought it would be nice to play on that for my company name.”

With the idea of starting a business of her own speaking loudly in her head, the Clarendon native shared that the inspiration behind taking the leap into the entrepreneurial world was simple.

“I just needed my labour to be meaningful, worthwhile and something I was passionate about, while providing the income I needed to provide for myself and my family,” stated Bazzoni-Lawrence.

Now in its fourth year of operation, the Zone Marketing CEO credits the business’ success to the creativity, precision, and knowledge that Zone Marketing Limited brings to the table.

Unlike other marketing companies, the UWI graduate said: “We don’t believe in the cookie-cutter business. We pay attention to market research and come up with a tailored strategy for each client.”

She added: “Marketing is constantly changing, so I keep myself and my team up-to-date in order to ensure that my clients don’t get left behind.”

When asked where she would like Zone Marketing Limited to be within the next five years, the marketing guru shared: “In five years, Zone Marketing Ltd will be a quick-recall name, not only locally but regionally. When you think of marketing services, Zone should be top of mind.”
